Series 01, Item 61, 2021
Tapestry
Mohair, merino wool
54 in x 72 in

As experiments with color and form, Lee’s textiles explore wool’s capacity to act as a sculptural material and its ability to exist at varying degrees of suppleness and rigidity depending on the density of the felt. Lee’s work plays with scale, drawing on forms from the microscopic to the topographic.

Liam Lee is a New York based artist and designer whose work is concerned with the dissolution of the boundary between interior and exterior space, between man-made object and what constitutes the natural environment.
